How to Use the Roulette Payout & Odds Calculator
The roulette payout & odds calculator walks you through a simple setup process before showing your results.
- Choose your roulette version: European (single zero), American (double zero), or Triple 0. European is selected by default since it offers the lowest house edge at 2.7%;
- Select a chip value: seven denominations available: $1, $2, $5, $20, $50, $100, or $500. Only one chip value stays active at a time;
- Place your bets: click numbers, splits, streets, corners, or outside betting areas on the board. Hover over any spot on the desktop to see which numbers you're covering and the payout ratio;
- Click Calculate: generates your full betting breakdown. The button only activates after you place at least one bet. The same applies to “Restart” and “Undo”, which both stay greyed out on an empty board.
What Results Does the Calculator Show You?
After clicking Calculate, the roulette payout and odds calculator generates four panels, each covering a different angle of your betting strategy:
- Bet Summary is an aggregate overview of your full position: Max Win, Total Bet Amount, Expected Value, Hit Probability, Unique Bets, and Profitable Numbers;
- Wheel Coverage shows which specific numbers you’ve covered and your total coverage percentage. The “(i)” tooltip explains that higher coverage improves your chances of hitting, but typically compresses the payout per win;
- Payout & Odds per Bet is the per-bet breakdown with columns for Bet, Amount, Odds, Payout, EV, and Profit. The “(i)” tooltip notes that EV is calculated from the true mathematical probability for your selected wheel type;
- Profit/Loss Overlay appears directly on the betting board with color-coded values. Green shows a positive outcome, red shows a loss. Each number displays its exact profit or loss amount if the ball lands there.
Please Note
The calculator uses true mathematical probabilities based on the wheel type you selected. European odds differ from American odds because of the extra zero pocket.
Edit Bets vs Restart: How to Adjust Your Roulette Payout Calculation
Once the roulette payout and odds calculator runs, an “Edit Bets” button appears. Click it, and the board stays loaded with your previous bets, on top of which you can add new ones. Two controls become available: Restart and Undo.
Restart (labelled with an X icon) clears everything: all bets, all results, all panels. The board returns to its initial state.
Undo removes your last single action. It stays greyed out when you first enter edit mode and only activates after you’ve added a new action. It applies only to actions taken since the last Calculate. You can’t undo bets from a previous calculation.
The result panels stay visible as a snapshot of your last calculation until you hit Calculate again.
Switching the wheel variant works the same way: the board updates immediately, and all odds, probabilities, and expected values recalculate based on the new pocket count.
Recommendation
Always practice your betting strategy on European roulette first. The lower house edge means your bankroll lasts longer across the same number of spins.
Know Your Numbers with the Roulette Payout & Odds Calculator
The roulette payout and odds calculator gives you a full picture of any betting strategy before a single chip hits the table. Run different combinations, switch wheel variants, and compare how inside bets stack up against outside bets on coverage and potential profit.
You can test inside bets like straight-ups and splits against outside bets like dozens and columns. Compare how much coverage you get versus potential profit. Run calculations for different chip values to see how bet sizing affects your overall strategy.
